Jamaica Pictures

Well, in two days it will be back to reality...Spring semester classes begin on Tuesday for me and I'll be jumping right in with a full day of teaching.  At least the fact that it is the spring semester means spring is coming (please? pretty please?).  Until then, I will bask in the fond memories of our recent trip to Jamaica.  It was a completely relaxing trip, with days spent beach side, and nights jamming to Government Mule (we were there for their "Island Exodus.")

Here's Patrick enjoying his first Red Stripe of the trip.  Many more followed!  Oddly enough, this was taken at an Irish Bar in Montego Bay!

We spent out first full day on the Spirit of Reggae tour up to the Bob Marley Mausoleum in Nine Mile. A long, bumpy bus ride along some narrow windy roads, but well worth the trip.  Our tour guide Carol was very entertaining, and the bus driver Elvis was impressed with Patrick's reggae knowledge.

On our last night in Montego Bay we got treated to this beautuful sunset.

On Wednesday, we left Montego Bay and headed to the Breezes Resort in Negril. We had a few days to ourselves before the concerts and activities began.  A poster signing one afternoon, 3 Government Mule shows, a Warren Haynes acoustic set, and several performances by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. All in all, money well spent.
